Wax melts are taking the home fragrance industry by storm, But what is it that makes them so appealing? Why are melts the preferred way to fill people's homes with fragrance?
What is a wax melt?
Wax melts are created by melting wax and adding essential oils or fragrance oils and decanted into molds to cure and set. They are designed to be broken into segments and placed on top of a wax burner, lit by a tealight on the bottom to melt the wax in the dish, as the wax melts the aromas are released.
Why we choose wax melts
What we love most about wax melts is that they are long lasting, convenient and a lot more sustainable to the environment than candles.
With the right wax and fragrance oils, melts provide a fantastic "scent throw" which is long lasting due to wax reaching a higher temperature in the dish's melt pool than a candle.
With melts you are in control of the scent, you can add a small amount to the warmer and top up when required and give you the opportunity to change fragrances more often.

Soy wax is a vegetable wax derived from soybean oil
Paraffin wax melts are commonly used on our well known high street brands and generally cheaper to buy and derived from petroleum a gasoline product and burn with petro-soot.
Soy wax is a renewable resource and biodegradable lasting much longer than the paraffin alternatives as soy wax has a lower melting point.
